New Agreement Provides Alabama K12 Schools, Higher Education, and State & Local Government Agencies with Affordable, Cutting-Edge IT Solutions
August 30, 2010 – Prosys Information Systems, a provider of customized IT solutions backed by engineering expertise and best-in-class products, announced a contract with the State of Alabama today to serve as the exclusive reseller of Cisco Network and Telecomm technologies. The three-year contract with two-year extension allows public schools, state and local government agencies to take advantage of discounted pricing on a variety of IT solutions, including network, telephone equipment and voice services.
“What’s most rewarding about this contract is the ability to provide cutting-edge Cisco technologies to schools and local governments at a fraction of the cost,” said Jeff Baldwin, Public Sector Account Executive for Prosys. “School administrators and government officials are trying to find ways to be more efficient with budget dollars. By providing these agencies with deep discounts, Prosys and the State of Alabama are working to mitigate the impact budget cuts have on students, constituents and statewide operations. The contract truly is a win-win for all parties involved.”
Since finalizing terms in mid-July, Prosys has already closed business from the contract with higher-education, and local and state agencies. With the back-to-school rush now in effect, Prosys expects a surge in demand from K-12 schools. To accommodate this demand, Prosys is bringing sales and engineering jobs to Alabama through recent hirings and the relocation of existing talent to the State of Alabama.
“One of the pillars Prosys is known for is our exceptional customer service and solutions customized to the long-term needs of each and every client,” said Baldwin. “As a true partner to the organizations we do business with, Prosys will continue to provide service-level excellence and highly-trained IT professionals to support Alabama schools and agencies. The additional personnel will also be imperative as Alabama organizations begin to adopt new Cisco technologies as offered by Prosys that weren’t available in previous Alabama Network and Telecomm purchasing contracts.”
The innovative Cisco technologies include VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and Tandberg/TelePresence (live, face-to-face, Web-based meetings.) Both solutions provide ways that schools and agencies can reduce monthly operating costs relative to voice and meeting communication without sacrificing the quality of correspondence.
Prosys, a Gold Certified Cisco Partner, also currently holds non-exclusive Cisco reseller contracts with the states of Florida and Georgia.
